So, for all you people who're wondering, Aldecoary's second child was safely delivered on the evening of Friday, June 17.

I don't know when she'll get online to tell you all about it. But, he's healthy so far, and they both went home on that Sunday. So, now Buzz is a big brother! And I bet Aldecoary's got her hands full with two young'uns to watch over.

"My peace I give in times of deepest grief;
Imparting calm and trust and My relief.
My peace I give when prayer seems lost, unheard;
Know that My promises are ever in My word.
My peace I give when thou art left alone -
The nightingale at night has sweetest tone.
My peace I give in times of utter loss,
The way of glory leads right to the cross.
My peace I give when enemies will blame,
The fellowship is sweet through cruel shame.
My peace I give in agony and sweat,
For mine own brow with bloody drops was wet.
My peace I give when nearest friend betrays -
Peace that is merged in love, and for them prays.
My peace I give when there's but death for thee -
The gateway is the cross to get to Me."    (L. S. P.)--I received this in an email, so I don't know what "L. S. P." stands for.....

Writer at Work

I just wanted to let you all know that Caden has been born today. My sister’s text to me said:

“Caden was born this morning at 4:20am. 5lbs 2oz and 18 inches. So far, healthy and wiggly and able to stay in our room!”

Mother, baby, and father are all doing well. I have heard that she went into labor last night already, but did not go to the hospital until early this morning. Understandably, they are all quite tired, and so I am posting this so that you all know. I am sure she will do a post of her own once she has rested and has had a chance to spend some bonding time with Caden.

I know not everyone on her friends list is on my list, so this post will be left public, so any may view it for an update.

UPDATE (10 June 2015): Caden is a little jaundiced today, but still doing well. Mom and baby should have a joyful homecoming tomorrow. (Unless something comes up, but it's looking good.)

UPDATE (12 June 2015): Caden went home with his mommy and daddy late last night. He is still doing well, but must wear a bili blanket for his jaundice. (A type of fiber-optic blanket… look here is you want to know a little more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biliblanket .) Today, he took naps and played with Mommy and Daddy.

...It's pretty hot here this week. And sunny. Sitting in the truck for most of the day for work kinda sucked. But oh well.

Yup, it's a couple stories/poems/shorts I certainly didn't write...but I'm posting them here, so I can have them readily available for inspiration.

Fooprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,

I looked back at the footprints in the sand.

I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,

especially at the very lowest and saddest times,

there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.

"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,

You'd walk with me all the way.

But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,

there was only one set of footprints.

I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you

Never, ever, during your trials and testings.

When you saw only one set of footprints,

It was then that I carried you."

The Starfish Story

Original Story by: Loren Eisley

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed
a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.

Approaching the boy, he asked, "What are you doing?"

The youth replied, "Throwing starfish back into the ocean.
The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them back, they'll die."

"Son," the man said, "don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?
You can't make a
difference!"

After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish,
and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the
man, he said,
"I made a difference for that one."

I actually have a song called "Sure made a Difference" that is pretty much the starfish story in song form. I heard it performed live in Michigan.

LJ's being even more annoying. Beyong not letting me type properly, it's also not letting me format this at all...so I can't fix the size of text and style....at least it let me switch alignments, but it took quite some coaxing.

I've been having lots of weird dreams lately (Okay, honestly, when *aren't* my dreams weird? Pretty much never.) but I'm never able to remember them well enough to try to explain them when I wake up. Did I tell you guys about the weird drem from ....oh....some time ago now.....I only remember the ending of it, now, but it's been bugging me lately.

So, whatever I was doing beforehand, I don't remember, but I ended up in the basement of our house, in the bedroom, and I knew something really bad was going to happen so I thought to myself, "If I can make myself look at my hand, I will have a lucid dream, where I can consciousy choose what to do--I'll have more control." (I have been told that, but I've never thought of it during a dream like at and I've never tried it...don't even know if that's really true...that was just my dream strategy to avoid the coming bad situation, since I couldn't think of anything else...) So, I start to bring my hand up and lower my gaze, but, before I actually look at my hand, I suddenly become more fully aware of what the "bad situation" was that was coming, and I realize, even if I can control my actions in the dream, I can't avoid what's going to happen, so I just start screaming and screaming........and then I woke up.

I don't think I actually screamed out loud in my sleep--no one in the house asked me why I was screaming, at any rate....

Does anyone have lucid dreams? I think they sound interesting....but some of the fun of my weird dreams is just watching to see what my unconsious brain comes up with.
